This is a page of helpful tips for the teacher during this assignment

Students are always to be on task between the Web-quest site, and the created blogs for both the artists’ images and the submission page.  They are also encouraged to continue exploration of images by the given artists on their own but only from the provided list of artists for which we have permission to make public their images on the web.  As of the fourth class period Students should have had enough time compiling their artist images and should have moved on to working on their own artwork.

Students are expected to create their own piece of art that relates to their own theme and draws inspiration form selected pieces of art that range from photography to paintings to sculpture.  Since a variety of mediums are available, students are encouraged to explore different means of creation.

As the instructor in this classroom environment, students will likely expect your help on the execution of a variety of aesthetics to replicate styles that are present in their inspirational set of images.  You may have to guide them to the right medium to best create a form of sculpture or painting style.

The curator exhibitions will be due after the 9th class into the project and the last class will be reserved for viewing the student exhibitions and work as a class and looking at the feedback of other students to talk about constructive criticism.

The main goal of this project is to teach students how to interpret art while learning the various styles of several contemporary artists and to explore new or familiar mediums to understand the meaning of a theme.  Hopefully your students will find this a fun exercise and use research as a fundamental means of gaining inspiration for future artwork.  Students will also benefit from choosing a meaning or a theme to back their work before starting the creation process.

We hope you enjoyed this project too!!
